Third Annual Carden China and Carden Day School of San Jose International Cultural Program
Carden China is located in Beijing, China. Thirteen students from Beijing visited our school from Saturday, February 2 to Thursday, February 7.
Carden China started in 2001 with 38 students. The students were in 5th grade and experienced different grades while here is San Jose.
The cultural exchange with Carden China for the past two years had been a great experience for our school, host families and students. True friendships are formed and cultural understanding was gained by everyone involved.
The students of Carden China concluded their visit with a special evening of food and ice hockey. On Wednesday, February 6, Carden Day School and Carden China were out in full force to cheer on the San Jose Sharks. The exciting atmosphere of the crowd, the speed of the puck, and the intensity of the players combined made an electrifying evening at the Tank. It was a nice send-off for Carden China’s five day stay with us and an end to their three week California adventure. The Super Bowl, bowling at Oakridge Lanes, and learning about science at the San Francisco Exploratorium are priceless memories shared and are the foundations of a lasting friendship between Carden Day School and Carden China.
A deep-hearted thank you to all who made this wonderful cultural exchange possible. A personal note of gratitude goes to the host families for opening their hearts and homes to a new family member. It has been an invaluable opportunity and we all are looking forward to next year. Please keep in mind that
Carden Day School is planning on visiting Carden China in Beijing in April of 2009 more information on this exciting event will come soon.
